Overnight Storms Damage Roof Above’s Primary Day Services Building; We Remain Open to Serve

CHARLOTTE, N.C., July 7, 2026

Severe Storm Damage

Roof Above’s Day Services Center, located at 945 N. College Street, remains open for services despite major storm damage overnight on July 7th, 2026 that damaged our primary services building. That building, known as “the Hub”, will be closed until further notice. Staff are working quickly to migrate services to the adjacent building (“the Depot”) at the same address. Some services, such as showers and laundry, will be paused briefly as we work to create alternate pathways to services, but our doors will remain open to serve our neighbors.

We Remain Open to Serve

We are pleased to share that we are able to serve lunch today, with the support of community partners. Chef Sandra Smith says, “We’ve been serving our neighbors lunch for 30 years, and this isn’t going to stop us.”
